Marius Conan won the £1,250 Main Event at 888LIVE London, defeating a 379-entry field to secure the title and a top prize of £91,170.

The French player entered the final table as chip leader and one of the most experienced contenders remaining. Although the early stages did not go entirely to plan, Conan recovered and eventually defeated Nathan Cohen heads-up.

After the victory, he described the result as especially meaningful and highlighted how enjoyable his run through the tournament had been.

Conan Adds Another Major Result to His Career

Marius Conan may not have the same résumé as his older brother Arthur, but he already had several notable results before this victory.

He won a WSOP Circuit Main Event in Paris in 2017 and made a deep run at EPT Barcelona in 2018. His latest success takes his recorded live tournament earnings beyond $500,000.

Conan said he felt comfortable throughout most of the event and rarely found himself under serious pressure.

He also credited Arthur for helping his development as a player, saying that much of what he has learned came from his brother.

Final Table Starts With Early Setbacks

The final nine returned with Conan leading on 2,225,000 chips, but Michael Hewes quickly moved ahead after eliminating Alexios Zervos in ninth place.

Nathan Cohen then doubled through Robert Buky and finished him off shortly afterwards.

Pascal Pflock exited in seventh after moving all in with ace-six against Guang Yang’s ten-nine. Yang improved to trips and took the pot.

Nicu Toderascu later moved into the chip lead after making a full house against Hewes, while Yang was the next player eliminated after running pocket sixes into Cohen’s pocket jacks.

Conan Beats Cohen Heads-Up for the Title

Conan managed to regain control later in the final table and reached heads-up play against Cohen.

The final duel was brief, with Conan completing the victory and collecting £91,170.

Cohen earned £60,550 for second place, while Toderascu finished third for £39,730.
