Lucas Jumalon has become the champion of the 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event after defeating Lauri Saaskilahti in the final heads-up battle in Las Vegas.
The 22-year-old player from Spokane, Washington, secured the title on Wednesday at the Events Center at Horseshoe Las Vegas. His victory earned him the Main Event bracelet and a $10 million first prize.
Jumalon becomes one of the youngest Main Event winners
According to tournament organizers, Jumalon is now the second-youngest player in WSOP history to capture the Main Event title.
His path to victory came through a field of more than 9,200 entrants. Each participant paid a $10,000 buy-in for a place in the tournament.
Jumalon entered the final table as the chip leader and managed to maintain his position through the decisive stages of play before overcoming Finland’s Saaskilahti in the final confrontation.
Final table players secure seven-figure payouts
Saaskilahti finished as runner-up and collected $6 million for second place.
The remaining seven players who reached the final table were also guaranteed substantial payouts, with each receiving at least $1 million.
The result adds Jumalon’s name to the list of Main Event champions and gives the young American one of poker’s most recognised tournament achievements.
